Can I apply Stop loss on the same day?

Answer

1. No. You cannot apply stop loss on the same day, i.e the day you bought a stock. You will have to wait to get the credit of your stock in your demat account.
2.On the other hand, if you have equivalent holdings or more of the same stock in your demat account, then you can place your stop loss on the current buy trade.
3.If the trade hits your stop loss then you need to presume that the stock in your holding is placed for delivery towards sell and this current buy trade should be considered as delivery on T+2 settlement.
