What do you understand by purging of equity?

Answer

Purging means purification. Purging of equity means, purification of that pro rata part of all impure income earned by the Company during the course of its operation in a given financial year for which a specific investor is liable as per Shariah due to that investor having invested in shares of that company during that year.
